Physical Description
Alligator turtles got have large heads, strongly beaks, and long, thick scales tails.
They have 3 serrated longitudinal keels along the rear edge at their dark brown carapace and alligator-like skin.
They have pink narrow tongue which look like a worm.

Rivers, canals, lakes and streams.

They can hold their breath and stay underwater for 40 - 50 minutes.
These turtles get their food with special technic. They stay on the river bottom quietly with their mouth widely open and showing their worm liked tongue, to attract their prey. When they attracted and come nearer, the alligator turtles will snap with their strong jaws and eat they prey.
