Physical Description

  • On the dorsal portion of their bodies, Asiatic Reticulated Python is light yellowish to brown with black lines stretching diagonally down towards the snout from the ventral region of the eyes.

  • On the head of the snake, from the end of the snout to the base of the skull or nape, another black line is often present.

  • Examining the upper jaw at the front of the snout is a way to differentiate Asiatic Reticulated Python from related species.

 

Habitat

Tropical rainforests, wetlands, and grassland forests

  • The Biggest Snake in Malaysia and the World's Longest Snake.

  • Can be found in Malaysia, and originated from Southeast Asia.

  • The name of ‘Ular Sawa Batik’ because of the ‘batik’ pattern at their body.

  • At one time, they can lay as many as 80 eggs. As soon as you placed them in place, the females will leave those eggs.

  • They are going to try to find a warm spot to incubate them well.

  • Around 90 days old, the babies are about 60cm long when they emerge.
