Size: These tortoise can grow up to 60cm in length and 37 kg in weight when fully grown.

Conservation Status: Critically Endangered

Physical Description

  • Black Emys have their carapaces surface is slightly flattened and wide shell.

  • They have short neck compared to Aldabra tortoise and they do not look as tall as Aldabra tortoise.

Habitat

  • They live in the green forest area, from lowland regions up to altitudes (1000m )
