Physical Description
- The name 'blue tongue lizard' because their tongue is blue, flat and notched tongue, vividly berry blue present inside a bright pink mouth. 
- They are brownish black and greyish black in color and they are also among the biggest skinks with skin texture like 'salak' fruit. 
- Their stout tails are marked with dark cross bands.

- They are viviparous- they do not lay egg but giving birth. 
- Suitable as pet because they quickly become used to human. 
- They can break part of the tail off 'if needed' to escape from predator. 
- All the food and water reserves are stored in the tail but if they trashing the tail, they can still live as long as there are food resource.
