Common Name: White-Ear Marmoset

Scientific Name: Callithrix aurita

Class: Mammals

Diet: Omnivore

Size: Average size for White-ear marmoset is 0.3 kilogram to 0.36 kilogram meanwhile for their length has has a body length of about 12 - 15 cm, with a tail length of 29.5 - 35 cm.

Average Lifespan: Up to 10 years in the wild meanwhile in captivity can live up until 16 years.

Origin: Brazil

Conservation Status: Endangered (IUCN 2004)

Physical Description

  • White-ear marmoset have white earlobes, and white flames on the forehead.

  • Their scalp is usually dark brown, while their back hair is greyish brown with light transverse stripes.

  • They also have a very pronounced transverse tail strip.

Habitat

Montane regions of the Atlantic coastal forest.
